SOLD I have reunited the pair! They are shown together in A Tribute to America, 1935 to 1950 by Carla and Roberto Brunialti on page 201. Victor Silson was issued a patent for this design in 1941. It is patent number 125042. I had Columbine and recently found her partner. I rarely see them together. She is of gold plated base metal with pink, black and white enameling. Admittedly, she has seen better days, but she is still a delightful example of his work. It also leads me to believe that someone loved this pin. It was not put away in a jewelry box and forgotten. Harlequin is splendid in a black and white leotard and fancy shirt with a big red bow, all in enamel. Silson also did some work for Spratling in the 1940s. The hallmark "Silson Patented" appears on the reverse of both pins. Can be sold seperately. Please inquire.
Condition: Columbine: Very good vintage. There is moderate plating wear noted and some small spots of enamel loss. I have factored that into the price foe both pins. If in excellent or better vintage condition $225.00 would not be out of the question. Harlequin: Excellent vintage. Very little wear is noted.
Measurements: Columbine: 1 1/2" wide and 2 1/4" long. Harlequin: 2" wide and 2 1/2" long.
