SOLD WAS: $1400.00 NOW: $850.00 Before I saw the signature, I thought this jaw dropping set had Haskell like appearance. It does, however it is a fabulous older [pre- copyright] Hobe, and to my mind, it doesn't get much better than this. You cannot wear this set without turning heads. Green swirl glass beads, pink art glass beads and creamy opaque beads are each capped with golden filigree findings with rhinestone rondells used as spacers. The necklace is a doubled strand with the most amazing floral centerpiece of carved glass leaves, and opaque glass beads. These beads are all wired to a double filigree backing and a couple of clear rhinestones are nestled within the drop. William Hobe jewelry was known for exceptional design and was/is beloved by collectors from the East Coast to the West as well as around the world. All I can say is I am a believer! The incomparable necklace also has a clasp that echoes the floral drop. It closes with a hook. The bracelet which is very similar to a few shown in the book Inside the Jewelry Box by Ann Pitman is a four row wrap with each end decorated with the floral motif. The hallmark appears on the necklace and the bracelet is unsigned. This is not unusual as there really isn't a place on the bracelet for a signature plaque. In Ann's book, the similar bracelets are also unsigned. This set is knock- out gorgeous and would make a perfect addition to a Hobe collection or to any wardrobe! Condition: Excellent vintage. Measurements: Necklace: 16" long and adjustable by another 4 1/2". The floral motif is 2 1/2" long and 2 1/4" wide. The bracelet is the wrap type so it should fit most writs. All beads vary in size from 8mm to 10mm.
