SOLD This distinctive piece can be seen in several books such as American Costume Jewelry by Roberto and Carla Brunialti. It is one of McClelland Barclay's instantly recognizable designs. Some of the necklaces with a similar design can be seen with different chains, slightly differing placement of the glass and the amount of colored glass used. This one is nearly identical to the piece in the book mentioned above and shown on page 248. The difference is the amount of red baguettes used. The item in the book has a few more. This "V Shaped Necklace" dates to 1939. The gold- tone metal is bright as are the stones. The clasp is an attractive fold- over type. It was designed by McClelland Barclay and produced by the ever present Rice- Weiner. This dramatic necklace should be on the must have list for any serious collector and is a prime example of American costume jewelry.
Condition: Excellent vintage. A few tiny spots of plating wear noted on the reverse and at a link.
Measurements: 16" long.
