SOLD Fit for a queen! An elegant scalloped edge jasperware and gold-tone metal convertible powder compact signed Stratton of England in the Queen shape with matching lipstick holder. This classy set was made by an alliance between Stratton and Wedgwood. The cameo on both covers is called "Cupid". I had another compact just like that named it as such. The sticker, still intact on the mirror, states that the cameo was indeed made by Josiah Wedgwood! The mirror is frosted around the edges and it is in great shape. The puff and sifter complete with use and care instructions are present. The puff has begun to disintegrate from age. It has not been used, nor has this compact. There is unused product inside the godet. The clasp is nice and tight. The patent number 764,125 appears on the inside and the makers mark is on the bottom of the case. The matching lipstick holder has a design patent number 934 048 and the makers mark appears under the lid on the holder. A great and rare find indeed! ca. late 1940s- 1950s
Condition: Excellent unused vintage. Other than the condition of the puff noted above there are a few tiny surface scratches to the bottom of the case.
Measurements: Compact: 3 1/4" in diameter. Lipstick holder: 2 1/2" wide and 1 1/8" long.
