The fortune teller is
holding a huge pale amber Lucite
"crystal
ball"
between his crossed legs.
His robe and turban are detailed. A
crescent moon adorns the turban and the figures face is bearded. This silver-
tone brooch is a part of the Thief of
Bagdad line produced by Rice Weiner for Alexander Korda. It dates to 1940.
It can be seen in the book American Costume Jewelry, Art and Industry,
1935-1950 by the Brunialti's, in enamel on page 37 of volume 2.
The hallmark appears on the reverse.
Condition: Excellent vintage.
The Lucite ball has some very light surface wear.
The pin rod has some rust.
Measurements: 2 1/2" long and 1 1/2" wide. Lucite ball: 24mm.
